Most of the major treatment centers have negotiated medical rates with local hotels, motels and apartments so make sure you inquire about their lodging arrangements. This information can often be found on the medical center's website, or else ask your hospital representative about these programs.

Another resource for lodging is the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses (www.nahhh.org). The NAHHH is an association of more than 150 nonprofit organizations located throughout the U.S. that provide family-centered lodging and support services to families and their loved ones who are receiving medical treatment far from their home communities.
