Surgery for Mesothelioma Patients
Your doctor may decide to remove part of the lining of the chest or abdomen
and some of the tissue around it to treat your mesothelioma. Sometimes, if your condition would benefit,
he or she will recommend that a lung also be removed (called pneumonectomy).
Occasionally part of the diaphragm, the muscle below the lungs that helps
with breathing, is also removed during surgery for mesothelioma.
